Applied Graphics Has Been a PIM Great Printer Since 2002!

What is the PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative? PIM (The Printing Industry of Minnesota) believes that printers who exceed state regulations for pollution prevention deserve separate recognition for their selfless dedication to the environment. PIM created a program for printers that go beyond environmental compliance, it’s the PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative. The PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative is a totally voluntary program aimed at increasing environmental, health and safety compliance and pollution prevention within the printing industry. To date Applied Graphics is one of less than 50 printers in the state of Minnesota to have achieved Great Printer status. It takes hard work and dedication but it’s something we believe in. The primary objective of the PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative is to achieve, maintain and exceed compliance with all environmental, health and safety rules, regulations and laws while making pollution prevention, waste reduction and injury prevention a standard practice at printing companies. Applied Graphics Associates chooses to participate in the PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative. We’ve demonstrated that we minimize our company’s impact on human health and the environment while producing quality printed products for our customers, and we’re committed to going beyond environmental compliance. As a PIM Great Printer, Applied Graphics commits to the following principles by:

• Complying with all applicable environmental, health and safety requirements
• Going beyond compliance by minimizing wastes, reusing or recycling waste that cannot be prevented and maximizing energy efficiency
• Pursuing continuous environmental, health and safety improvements

Printing customers can have an impact in preventing waste and pollution by:

• Choosing a printer that participates in the PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative
• Letting printers know that PIM Great Printer Environmental Initiative membership was one of the reasons that you chose them
• Asking your printer if they’re a member, and if not, why?
• Working with a printer who cares about our environment as much as you do and has proven ways to produce your materials in ways that minimize environmental impact.
